In his last tournament as a Rattler, Medicine Hat’s Michael Valk goes for gold

Oct 13, 2024 | 6:22 AM

A Medicine Hat golfer is aiming to make history.

Michael Valk, a Medicine Hat Rattler, will try to claim Canada’s top prize this week.

Valk is the back-to-back Men’s Individual Golf Champion, ACAC Golfer of the Year, ACAC All-Conference winner, named to ACAC Men’s Team Bronze, and included in ACAC Mixed Team Bronze.

But there’s one accolade that has eluded him.

Valk will this week have one last opportunity to secure a national gold medal at the CCAA Golf National Championship.

To claim the championship, he’ll have to go one step beyond last year’s achievement.

It will also mark the Medicine Hat College student’s final tournament as a Rattler.

The tournament, taking place at Humber College in Toronto, gets underway Sunday and runs until Friday.
