Calgary officers punched, Tasered man loitering at hotel before died: ASIRT
Alberta’s police watchdog says officers fired stun guns at a man and punched him in the head before he was put in restraints and died.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team says Calgary police were called last week about a man loitering at the Carriage House Hotel and Conference Centre.
It says the man appeared dazed when he was told to leave and, when an officer pointed a Taser at him, he raised his hands and started to walk out of the hotel lobby.
It says the man told police, “I don’t want to die.”
