Medicine Hat Stampede midway revenue up for 2024, official says

The 2024 Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede’s midway revenue increased and the professional rodeo sold out Friday night’s showing, according to general manager Ron Edwards.

“We were very successful on the midway, our revenue was up this year; I think we had a record year on the midway,” Edwards told CHAT News on Wednesday.

The first afternoon of the Stampede was quiet due to high temperatures before building up in the evening, Edwards acknowledged.

“Then Thursday, Friday, Saturday we had some record crowds,” he said.

The professional rodeo, split up into three events, had a sold out grandstand audience on Friday, Edwards added.

He did not reveal any attendance numbers in an interview with anchor Dan Reynish.

A spokesperson for the Stampede said the non-for-profit community service organization does not have exact attendance information at this time.
