Heat warning continues Monday for Medicine Hat and area

Jul 29, 2024 | 8:40 AM

A heat warning has been issued for daytime high temperatures expected Monday in Medicine Hat, Brooks and swathes of southeast Alberta.

Environment Canada’s heat warning has been in place since Sunday.

An overnight low 17 C will not bring much relief from the heat, Environment Canada said in the alert.

However, it expects that temperatures will moderate by Tuesday.

Those impacted are advised to consider rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day, take frequent breaks from the heat and spending time in cooled indoor spaces where possible.

Staying hydrated with water is also recommended.

Environment Canada added that any person or pet should not be left inside a closed vehicle for any length of time.
