Power restored in northeast Redcliff after outage

Power was restored for customers in northeast Redcliff after an outage Thursday morning.

Several businesses, including CHAT TV headquarters, were plunged into darkness for about 90 minutes.

The City of Medicine Hat confirmed a power outage impacting 35 customers near Broadway Avenue East on Thursday morning.

Several businesses located in a small area between the Trans-Canada Highway, Boundary Road and Broadway Avenue Northeast were impacted by the outage, including Burger King and Tim Hortons.

A city crew could be seen repairing a power line on the property of Alberta Auto Wreckers, at the south end of Rosenau Transport Ltd. in Redcliff.

The CHAT TV station lost power at 9:27 a.m.

It was not immediately clear how the line was damaged.
