Construction season has arrived in Medicine Hat.
Here’s the latest on June 28.

Free parking has been made available during the Third Street construction project at Towne Square and in the third level of the transit parkade.

Division Avenue between Third Street Southeast and Sixth Street Southeast is fully closed today.
It’s closed for infrastructure upgrades as part of a phased approach to the project.

Construction in the area will be fully completed by Sept. 30.

Work on Dunmore Road Southeast between Southview Drive Southeast and 22nd Street Southeast has moved on to asphalt paving.
That work is scheduled to run until June 13.
No detour is required but expect slow going.

The laneway of Seventh Street Northwest between McCutcheon Drive Northwest and Bassett Crescent Northwest is fully closed.
The alley closure, which includes Smythe Avenue Northwest, is for a gas mains and services replacement.
Completion is expected by Aug. 30.

Construction is ongoing at Southview and Simpson Parks until fall 2024.
The project aims to rehabilitate the irrigation system and enhance the trail network in this area.

Work continues on Fifth Avenue Southeast today until a scheduled completion date of July 25.
The intersection of Fifth Avenue Southeast and Third Street Southeast are closed off for downtown infrastructure upgrades.

The entirety of Altawana Drive between Parkview Drive Northeast and Eighth Street Northeast is closed today until July 14.
Drivers are directed on a detour using Parkview Drive.
Construction includes a water and sewer main replacement and new asphalt.

Work continues on Second Street Northwest between Fourth Avenue Northwest and Sixth Avenue Northwest.
Construction includes water main services upgrades and renewal.
The scheduled completion date is July 31.

The sidewalk in front of the historic Monarch Theatre remains closed.
The sidewalk is expected to reopen on June 28.

A full road closure continues on Eighth Street Southeast between First Avenue Southeast and Fourth Avenue Southeast for a water and sewer main replacement.
It’s expected to reopen Oct. 15.

There’s a full road closure at Eighth Street Southwest and Fifth Avenue Southwest for a water main installation.
The intersection is expected to reopen today at 5 p.m.

A partial road closure continues today on 20th Street Northeast between Seventh Avenue Northeast and Division Avenue North.
There’s no detour required but sidewalks are closed.
The work is expected to be complete by Oct. 30.

Emergency services were responding Wednesday to a house fire in the North Flats area of Medicine Hat.
Braemar Street Southeast was closed between Allowance Avenue Southeast and Washington Avenue Southeast.
