A 33-year-old Brooks man has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of aggravated assault.

Jared Potts was originally charged with attempted murder after a 61-year-old man was stabbed in a home in Brooks on Sept. 11 of last year.

The victim survived the attack.

Potts entered the guilty plea before what was to have been a bail hearing in Medicine Hat provincial court.
