An airsoft pistol was recovered from a vehicle searched after a weapons complaint in the Crescent Heights area, Medicine Hat police said in an update Wednesday.

Police also revealed one of the victims received a broken hand during the altercation.

Police received a report that an altercation had occurred at a residence located in the 400 Block of 19th Street Northeast on Tuesday.

It was reported that some of the people involved in the altercation had left the area in a vehicle, police said.

MHPS patrol members conducted a high-risk vehicle stop on the Maple Avenue bridge, taking a male and a female into custody.

Police found a black CO2 airsoft pistol, the Medicine Hat Police Service said in a follow up statement on Wednesday.

A 33-old-female was charged with assault and breach of undertaking. She was released and is scheduled to appear in court on July 24.

A 34-year-old male was charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, theft under $5,000, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and two counts of breach of undertaking.

The man was remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 20.

The investigation determined it was a targeted attack with the accused and victim known to one another.

There is no ongoing risk to the public, police said.
