‘Hold and secure’ lifted for three Redcliff schools
A “hold and secure” status for Isabel F Cox, Margaret Wooding and Redcliff Mennonite Alternative Program Outreach schools was lifted Monday afternoon.
The three Redcliff schools were locked down “out of an abundance of caution…due to a potential threat from outside the school”, officials said in a letter to parents earlier on Monday.
A hold and secure protocol is activated when it is believed that students are safer inside the school and all entrances to the school are locked.
School activities will continue as normal, however, recess and physical education will all occur in the building instead of outdoors, the letter said.
