Medicine Hat ramps up Echo Dale activities to entice longer stays

Summer activity is ramping up at Echo Dale Regional Park.

It’s part of an effort by the City of Medicine Hat to entice guests to use the park more this year, business and innovation manager Scott Richter said.

“We’re trying to add some more events and programs and activate the park,” Richter told CHAT News on Friday.

“Instead of it just being a passive place just to come for a few hours, we’re trying to keep people here for most of the day.”

The Echo Dale swimming lake is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., when a lifeguard is present. The park’s campsites, farm and the interpretive centre are available to book.

The city recently stocked the boat lake with 1,800 rainbow trout, as well.
