A 37-year-old Redcliff man was arrested after a safe was allegedly stolen from Connaught Golf Club.

The Medicine Hat Police Service responded to a break-and-enter at the 13th Avenue Southeast business on Thursday morning, police reported Friday.

A large safe and its contents were stolen, police said.

The Criminal Investigation Section took over the matter and as part of the investigation executed a residential search warrant in Redcliff.

As a result, the Redcliff man was charged with break and enter and commit theft and three counts of breaching a release order.

Police were able to recover the safe and its contents in a rural area north of the city limits.

The man will be held in custody until he appears in Medicine Hat provincial court on April 9.
