Cypress County resident celebrating million dollar lottery win

A resident of Cypress County is celebrating after winning one million dollars on Lotto 6-49.

Donald Dickson says he was washing his truck when he decided to scan his February 17th ticket on the Lotto Spot App.

He couldn’t believe his eyes and drove to a friend’s place to get him to check it too.

Dickson says his wife was even more ecstatic to hear the news.

“I went home to show my wife, and now we’re both making plans!” he said. “We have some renovations we want to take care of and potentially will be buying a new vehicle.”

“We still have young kids,” he explained. “So, this money will go a long way.”

The new millionaire said he’s still in utter disbelief over the win.

Dickson’s million dollar ticket was purchased at the Petro Canada Travel Centre on Box Springs Boulevard in Medicine Hat.

His ticket matched the Gold Ball selection on the February 17th draw.
