Medicine Hat city council to make decision on social media policy update

A light agenda for Monday’s Medicine Hat city council meeting has only two items up for a decision: a social media policy update and procurement bylaw changes.

It’s the first time since 2011 the city will attempt to update its social media policy.

The proposed update includes minor changes for security, defined expectations for city social media account administrators and additional guidelines for employees related to personal social media use.

Council will also vote on a change to the procurement bylaw.

The city’s finance and supply chain division proposed the signing of purchasing contracts be delegated to the city manager through Bylaw No. 4811.
