Special weather statement issued for heavy snowfall coming to Medicine Hat on Saturday

Heavy snow will fall in southeastern Alberta on Saturday, according to a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada.

Snowfall will begin Saturday morning and will intensify through the day.

Total amounts of 10 to 20 centimetres are likely with some pockets of up to 30 centimetres possible, according to Environment Canada.

The statement added that gusty winds Saturday evening may bring blowing snow to the area as well.
