‘The partners that we wanted’: Flexible workspace rebranding to Regus Medicine Hat

A local flexible workplace provider that started up over a decade ago is rebranding its space in downtown Medicine Hat.

The 640 Professional Building on 3rd Street will be transformed into a Regus-branded hybrid workspace as part of an acquisition by the international brand.

This new Regus opening is part of a drive by owners IWG to meet the demand for flexible working spaces in suburban and rural markets as the company plans to double its network in Canada over the next two years to 250 locations.

Luc Beriault and his wife Jean, who started the hybrid workspace some 15 years ago, will remain on as management for the rebranded 640 Professional building.

For Beriault, the Regus partnership is an opportunity to upgrade and bring a taste of international flair to Medicine Hat.

“When Regus approached us, we knew that they were the partners that we wanted,” Beriault told CHAT News on Tuesday.

“We’ve done it for 15 years but they’re better at it than we are. So, we’re just going to move aside and let them do their thing.”

Many of the same amenities such as meeting rooms, a fitness centre and rooftop patio access will continue to be offered.

With the transition is nearly complete, Regus Medicine Hat will formally open its doors May 1.
