City of Medicine Hat ‘municipal mingle’ opportunity today

The City of Medicine Hat is holding another open house.

The “Municipal Mingle” will run today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Esplanade Studio Theatre.

It’s the latest in a series of engagement events the city has put on recently as an opportunity for residents to ask questions and learn more about what the city is up to.

City communications director Colleen Graham said the last event was successful.

“Following the success of the public engagement open house last fall, we are excited to host this community event at a new venue,” Graham said.

“Our goal is to establish an in-person event as a regular platform for meaningful community dialogue.”

Several city divisions will be there to talk about projects that are top-of-mind for the city.

Community development staff will be available to speak about its arts, heritage and entertainment master plan. Environment, land and gas will be available to talk to residential and commercial land.

Economic development — the rebranded Invest Medicine Hat — will be there to speak to its four pillars.

Staff from municipal works will be present to discuss the transportation master plan and the Division Avenue project. For anyone interested in the land use bylaw, planning and development staff will be on-site.
