Feb 7, 2024 | 10:00 AM

A 91-year-old woman reported missing in Medicine Hat was found safe Wednesday morning, police say.

Multiple resources were involved in the search through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

Police said Wednesday morning that Lethbridge search and rescue personnel were being brought in to assist with the effort.

The service told CHAT News it was carrying out another sweep of her building Wednesday morning.

No further information will be given by police.

The police was asking for the public’s urgent assistance in locating a missing elderly lady and called in search and rescue.

The woman was last seen in the area of JYSK and London Drugs at around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a police post on Facebook. She was believed to be on foot.

The police service was concerned for her safety, especially considering her age and potential medical conditions.

The police service had requested the assistance of Southeast Alberta Search and Rescue to assist in the search efforts.
