Premier Danielle Smith heading to U.S. capital to promote Alberta’s role in the global energy sector
Premier Danielle Smith will promote Alberta’s role as a key player in the global energy transition in a trip to the U.S. capital this week, a second leg in a round trip after a stop in Ottawa.

Smith will meet with members of Congress, industry leaders and think tanks to highlight Alberta’s energy sector as a dynamic mix of traditional resources and emerging clean energy sources, according to her office.
“Alberta is, and has always been, a friend to the United States,” Smith said in a statement Tuesday ahead of her first-ever trip to Washington, D.C.
