Former Blue Jays stars Key, Martin to be inducted in Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame

ST MARYS, ONTARIO — Former Toronto Blue Jays all-stars Russell Martin and Jimmy Key are headlining the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024.

Key helped anchor the Toronto starting rotation for seven seasons and won a World Series with the Blue Jays in 1992.

He began his professional career in Medicine Hat, helping the team win the Pioneer League championship in 1982.

Martin spent four years with Toronto and helped the team reach the American League Championship Series in 2015 and 2016.

Former women’s national team member Ashley Stephenson will also be inducted along with former Blue Jays president and CEO Paul Godfrey, former national team pitcher Rod Heisler and longtime Toronto Leaside baseball executive Howard Birnie.

An induction ceremony is scheduled for June 15 at the Hall of Fame grounds.
