Air pistol recovered after "high risk" incident

‘High risk’ incident in Medicine Hat resolved without charges, ‘air pistol’ recovered

No charges will be laid after what police called a “high risk” incident occurred in Medicine Hat early Sunday night.

The Medicine Hat Police Service was called to the 800 block of 10 St. SE around 6 p.m. after someone reported seeing an individual going into a residence with what looked like a pistol.

In an abundance of caution, police contained the crisis point and used a loud “hailer” to establish communication with those inside the home.

The situation was resolved peacefully without harm to anyone, police said.

Police stress that the subject did not threaten or act in a dangerous manner with the pistol, which was determined to be an air pistol that did not meet legal thresholds.
