Medicine Hat city council is back Monday for its first meeting of 2024.

It will consider new grant proposals, make a decision on continuing operation of Co-op Place and the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre, among other items.

NEW GRANT PROPOSALS

Coun. Ramona Robins will bring forward her two grant initiatives as motions.

The first is a grant program for non-profit agencies.

Upon approval, city administration will be charged with creating eligibility criteria for council review and provide options for the amount of grant money dedicated to the program.

The second proposal is for a downtown enhancement grant.

City administration would prepare the program and criteria for downtown businesses.
