The Taber Police Service (TPS) said it responded to a fatal industrial accident in the community.

At approximately 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, police and EMS were called to a business on the 5700 block of 54 Avenue.

The initial investigation revealed that a 42-year-old Taber man was working underneath a large charter bus when the bus collapsed on top of him. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

The matter has been turned over to investigators with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety. Because it is no longer in their jurisdiction, the TPS said it cannot release the name of the deceased.
