Medicine Hat Police Service invites community to 125th anniversary celebration

Jan 11, 2024 | 5:02 PM

The Medicine Hat Police Service are celebrating 125 years of serving the community tonight.

At 7 p.m., there will be a regimental parade at the Medicine Hat Stampede Cypress Centre. Medals will be presented and there will be a meet and greet with some of the officers.

Sargeant Stacey Fishley helped plan this event and says it’s a great opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the public and the police service.

“I think it’s very important that the community comes out to events like this,” Fishley told CHAT News.

“They actually get to see what their police service does, who is in the police service and from there they can also get a better understanding or a better feeling for community with the police service that’s serving them.”

The event is open to the public and free to attend.
