Alberta Order of Excellence nomination period now underway

Albertans are being encouraged to make nominations for community members, leaders and innovators who they think should receive the province’s highest honour.

The Order of Excellence recognizes citizens who have made a meaningful, lasting contribution to their communities. It was established in 1979, since then, 212 Albertans have been named to the order.

Nominations are accepted year-round, but must be received by Feb. 15 to be considered for investiture this year.

Nominations must be delivered to the Order by February 15, 2023, in order to be considered for this year. However, nominations are accepted year-round.

Potential nominees must be a Canadian citizen residing in Alberta and, if selected, must be able to attend a ceremony.

People are not allowed to nominate themselves, their spouse or an immediate family member.
