Accidental fire breaks out beside Medicine Hat dollar store

Medicine Hat emergency services responded to an accidental fire near a south end Dollarama Thursday afternoon.

At least three fire trucks were at the scene and fire fighters were seen putting a ladder against the store and climbing to the roof.

The fire was sparked by construction work on the unit next to Dollarama, fire prevention officer Grayson Smith told CHAT News.

The flames were contained to the interior and exterior parts of the building’s roof, Smith said.
