Twin teenagers of Alberta MLA involved in car crash

Medicine Hat, AB – Alberta cabinet minister Jason Nixon is taking some time to focus on family after his teenage twins were involved in a car crash.

The 16-year-olds were travelling in a car that rolled on a rural road near Sundre on Friday morning.

Nixon’s daughter did not sustain any major injuries but his son was taken to hospital where he is in critical but stable condition.

Nixon said he will continue in his role as minister for seniors, community and social services, but said fellow cabinet minister Dan Williams will be assisting him for now to make sure the work gets done.

Nixon is the United Conservative member for the central Alberta in the constituency of Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre.
