Brooks man charged with second-degree murder

Brooks, AB–A-46-year-old man from Brooks has been charged with second degree murder.

The man was arrested on Sunday and currently remains in custody following his first court appearance which is scheduled for this Wednesday.

The charge stems from an assault at an apartment complex in Brooks on July 23, 2023.

A 41-year-old man was located in life threatening condition and succumbed to his injuries three days later in hospital.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation with assistance from Brooks RCMP which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
