Medicine Hat council approves single rate for natural gas

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A single rate is coming for natural gas customers in Medicine Hat.

That’s after an amendment to the natural gas bylaw was passed by council Monday.

The monthly rates will be based on the procurement cost for that month and the price will be based on wholesale costs.

The changes should provide a benefit to the customer base, says staff.

Customers with a natural gas contract will be able to revert to the previous agreement by giving proper notice to the city by Feb. 1.
