Moto Sports Triple Crown Arenacross in Medicine Hat for first time

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Last weekend, CO-OP place was a dirt pile for professional bull riding. Now, that same dirt has been rearranged to produce an arenacross course, fit for some of the best dirt-bikers in Canada to race on.

“You know, we don’t have the bulls, but we got the iron horses, they call them,” says Kyle Thompson, COO with Triple Crown Series.

Tomorrow, riders take the stage to compete for points that will determine the Triple Crown Champion at the end of the season in November.

There are a total of 12 events held throughout the year, and this marks the first indoor part of the series. Quinn Amyotte is a pro-racer from Ontario, and says indoor racing is unique.

“Inside, the crowd’s right beside you, you can hear everything. Lap times are like 30 seconds, so it’s a lot quicker pace,” explains Amyotte. “You’re holding on for dear life for however long the race is, so it’s definitely high intensity and the crowd’s right there. It’s definitely a cool feeling and I like it a lot.”

The event starts tomorrow at 7pm.
