Fatal crash on Highway 1

Update: At 12:30 Saturday morning, RCMP stated the highway was re-opened. More information is expected to be released.

County of Newell, AB – Brooks RCMP are currently on scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 1, near Township Road 164.

The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

RCMP say Highway 1 westbound will be closed until further notice. Eastbound traffic is being impacted and is considerably slowed.
