RCMP investigating stabbing in Brooks

BROOKS, AB – A resident of Brooks has been charged in connection with a stabbing.

Potts has been remanded into custody and police said a future court date has not been set.

The RCMP received a report of a stabbing at a home in the city at around 9:40 a.m. on Sept. 11

  • Attempted murder
  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation
  • Fail to comply with an undertaking

Jared Potts, a 32-year-old Brooks resident faces charges in relation to the incident. Potts is charged with:

BROOKS, AB – The RCMP has apprehended a suspect who was wanted in connection to a stabbing.

Officers say they were called to a home in Brooks at approximately 9:40 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11.

Upon arrival, the RCMP said a victim who had multiple injuries was located. A suspect was also on scene and was promptly arrested.

The victim has been identified as a 61-year-old man from Brooks. He remains in hospital in stable condition.

The suspect, a 32-year-old from Brooks, remains in custody. Since charges have yet to be formally sworn in, the suspect’s name cannot be released.

The RCMP said more details will be provided at a later time.
