Amazing Race for Hunger raises $55K for Root Cellar

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Last weekend’s Amazing Race for Hunger raised nearly $55,000 to help local families meet their food needs.
“It was an absolutely incredible day,” says Melissa Mullis, executive director of the Root Cellar. “Watching how the community surrounded us and came together to fill our Emergency Food Pantry was incredibly heartwarming and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
Fifteen teams of two raced across Medicine Hat and Redcliff completing challenges at local businesses and organizations. Before race day each team fundraised for Root Cellar and more donations came in on the day.
Team Crew (Crew Fitness owners Chelsea and Austin) defended their title from last year winning the $4,000 grand prize. The Badlands Bandits finished second and Kraddys Team came in third place.
