DUNMORE, AB – Premier Danielle Smith is set to attend the inaugural Cypress County Ag Connections Conference later this year.

The county announced the conference in July and announced Smith’s appearance on Friday.

“We are thrilled to have Premier Danielle Smith address producers and agriculture service providers at the Cypress County Ag Connections Conference Presented by MNP on Nov. 22,” says Beth Cash, economic development officer with the county. “She will be part of a speaker lineup that will discuss topics relevant to cattle and crop producers, including topics such as calving, irrigation, crop storage, drones and more.”

The conference will be held at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede grounds and will welcome farmers, ranchers and others in agriculture in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Farmer and mental health advocate Lesley Kelly will be the keynote speaker
on the topic When Stress is More Than a Season. Other planned sessions include smart irrigation, innovation and the use of drones in agriculture, farm direct marketing and the global farming outlook for 2024.

Registration opens Sept. 1 and tickets can be purchased online at cypresscountybusiness.ca or at the county office.
