People are pumped about Medicine Hat’s new pump track

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat’s newest outdoor attraction is attracting its fair share of attention.

Janeen Jesse and her two-year-old daughter Mila were out today at the pump track next door to Gas City Campground.

Both are big fans.

“I like it. I like that it’s in one area and it keeps her in one spot unlike the streets when we walk on the streets because she goes quite fast on this,” says Janeen. “So it’s nice to keep her in one area and my other two boys like to come and bike around as well.

“She loves it, she thinks its so much fun,” Janeen continues. “I love when she asks, ‘Mom let’s go to the pump track.’ It’s good so she’s always wanting to come and just ride.”

The pump track opened earlier this summer and features beginner and intermediate courses for bikes, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades.

Janeen says her family comes once or twice a week and even when it’s busier in the evenings everyone is respectful and it’s been safe for all users.

The City of Medicine Hat asks all users to follow the guidelines that are posted at the track, which was funded through the provincial Municipal Stimulus Program.
