Gunshots fired NE Crescent Heights, man with non-life threatening injuries
MEDICINE HAT, AB – According to a Medicine Hat Police press release, at around 9:00pm last night the Medicine Hat police service was dispatched to the 400 block of 19th Street NE to investigate a weapons complaint.
The investigation determined that an unidentified person approached a victim walking in the area, firing several shots at the person and then fleeing by foot. A Police K-9 unit was deployed, but was not able to locate an offender in the area. One male was injured and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Vehicles and fence lines were also damaged during the incident.
The investigation shows that this was likely a targeted attack, and the Medicine Hat Police Service says there is no gneral public safety risk at this time.
