Sting Lacrosse team hits the international stage at US Box Nationals in California
MEDICINE HAT, AB – America’s largest box lacrosse tournament is set to commence on Friday. An A level lacrosse team from Southern Alberta is headed there to face the American teams.
US Box Nationals will be held in San Jose, with 130 teams and 1,500 players at the event. Sting Nation has entered with players from Medicine Hat, Taber, Lethbridge and Brooks. Up until this year, Sting Nation had never travelled outside of the country for an event.
However, the U17 team proved they’re worth a trip down to the States, after winning gold at a Saskatoon tournament, and silver at one of the largest western lacrosse events in Calgary. The only two Medicine Hat players are Hunter Skrove and Jaxon Buscholl, who also played for the U17 Sundevils. The two say Sting Nation has grown exponentially in the past year, and want to take that growth and turn it into a gold medal.
