Alberta MLAs to attend Pacific Northwest Economic Region summit in Boise
EDMONTON – Two Alberta MLAs will be travelling to Boise, Idaho on Saturday to attend the annual summit for the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER).
The two MLAs set to attend will be Shane Getson of Lac Ste. Anne-Parkland and Garth Rowswell of Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright. Together, Getson and Rowswell will advocate for issues of particular importance to Albertans, build relationships to support Alberta’s interests and further trade and investment ties with the United States.
PNWER is a regional forum that brings together legislative, government and private sector leaders from Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska to advance policies that promotes the region’s economies.
“Economic development is directly related to the strength of the partnerships we create. Alberta’s interests at the PNWER conference are to seek new avenues for innovation and investment while strengthening our long-standing trade relationships. The PNWER conference will indicate how the northwestern region of Canada and the United States seeks to progress in economic development and diversification,” MLA Shane Getson (Lac Ste. Anne-Parkland) said in a statement on Friday.
