Medicine Hat prepares for risk of wildfires
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat city officials say they are monitoring the current wildfire situation in the province as temperatures are expected to rise into the weekend.
Environment Canada is predicting the mercury to climb above 30 degrees and no rain is expected for at least four days.
There are currently 87 active wildfires burning in the province forcing several communities to evacuate.
Mayor Linnsie Clark says they have been working with the Emergency Advisory Committee to update the city’s plan for this year’s wildfire season.
