Bandits end unbeaten round robin at national championship with 6-1 win

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MB – The Brooks Bandits have advanced to the playoff round at the junior A national championship in Portage la Prairie, Man..

The Bandits were perfect through the round robin at the Centennial Cup, finishing it this afternoon with a 6-1 win over the Terrebonne Cobras.

Aiden Fink had two goals and two assists in today’s win. Hudson Malinowksi and Elliot Dutil each had three points.

On Monday, the Bandits won 9-0 over the Timmins Rock.

By finishing first in their pool the Bandits earned themselves a bye to the semi-final on Saturday. With two round robin games to be played Wednesday, the quarter-final matchup has yet to be determined.

All Bandits games are at 2:30 p.m. (Mountain time) and will be broadcast live on Real Country 105.7 FM and streamed for free at realcountrybrooks.ca, featuring commentary from Nathan Crosby on play-by-play and Ken Fleury on colour.

All the Centennial Cup games will be video streamed on HN Live with the Championship game broadcast on TSN.
