Bandits 2-0 at junior A national championship, third game on Monday

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MB – Halfway through the round robin the Brooks Bandits sit atop their pool at the junior A national championship.

The Bandits are 2-0 following Saturday’s 5-1 win over the Ottawa Junior Senators. The Bandits scored once in the first and piled on in the second, scoring four times. Hunter Wallace, Mikhail Simchuk, Hudson Malinoski, Brendan Poshak and Aiden Fink lit the lamp for the Bandits. Ethan Barwick stopped 25 of 26 shots.

The Bandits opened the tournament in Portage La Prairie, Man. with a 7-2 win on Thursday over the Yarmouth Mariners.

The Bandits are back at it Monday afternoon against the Timmins Rock and finish the round robin Tuesday against the Terrebonne Cobras.

The playoff round begins May 19.

All Bandits games are at 2:30 p.m. (Mountain time) and will be broadcast live on Real Country 105.7 FM and streamed for free at realcountrybrooks.ca, featuring commentary from Nathan Crosby on play-by-play and Ken Fleury on colour.

All the Centennial Cup games will be video streamed on HN Live with the Championship game broadcast on TSN.
