Volunteers with church  cleaning up Alberta highways Saturday afternoon

Medicine Hat groups participating in Alberta highway cleanup

MEDICINE HAT, AB – There a chance you’ll see volunteers in orange vests along the Medicine Hat highways today.

Between 7am and 5pm, different volunteer groups across Alberta will be collecting trash as an annual effort keep highways clean.

Drivers are being informed to stay aware and slow down while driving past cars pulled to the side of the highway and cleanup crews.

These volunteers are comprised of organizations such as church groups, Girl Guides, Rotary clubs, sports teams, and non-profit organizations.

Due to wildfire’s in the province, some cleanup activities may be delayed to May 13 or later.
