Pattison Media is helping voters get to know the candidates vying for your vote in the provincial election.

We provided the candidates with the same list of questions and here are their responses:

Tell us a little about yourself

  • Born and raised in and around Brooks
  • 1/2 Japanese
  • Married with two children and two grandchildren
  • Spent 16 years on Brooks City Council, 5 as Mayor
  • 7 years on the AUMA Board, 4 as President
  • Small business owner for 30 years

Why did you decide to run in this election?

I was chosen leader of the Alberta Party in Sept 2021. The province has systems that don’t work anymore and neither of the two legacy parties have any interest in fixing the problems.

What do you believe is the biggest issue facing the constituency right now?

The issues in health care and education as well as economic uncertainty in the energy sector

How do you plan on addressing these issues?

Properly resource the needs, both in terms and labour and funding. Focus on prevention by investing in people first. Bring certainty in regulation and intention so industries can make the investment decisions that favour Alberta

If elected, at the end of your first term, what do you hope to have accomplished?

To hold the sitting government to account

If you could have dinner with three people living or dead who would you choose and why?

Peter Lougheed, he was the impetus for massive change in Alberta and we need it again. My grandfather and my grandmother, I never really got the chance to understand their histories

Oilers or Flames?

Oilers always !!
