Apartment building evacuated Thursday night

MEDICINE HAT — City firefighters were called to an apartment building at 99 Carswell Road S.E. last night.

A pot on the stove caused some smoke damage in one unit and one person was taken to hospital for possible smoke inhalation.

Other residents of the building were briefly evacuated but were allowed to return within an hour of the call, which came in a 7:45 last night.

Two dogs were also rescued by fire crews.
