WINNIPEG, MB – The Medicine Hat Tigers are coming home in a 2-0 hole in their first-round WHL playoff series.
The Winnipeg Ice beat the Tigers 5-2 in Game 2 of the series on Saturday night.
Winnipeg’s Briley Wood scored the lone goal of the first period and Zack Ostapchuk doubled the lead early in the second. Tigers forward Andrew Basha scored his third of the postseason to cut the lead in half before Connor McClennon restored the two-goal lead.
Dallon Melin brought the Tabbies within one goal again but that was as close as they’d get. McClennon scored his second of the game and Matthew Savoie iced it with an empty-netter.
