Two-game weekend sees Tigers beat Hitmen, lose in OT to Broncos
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers earned a split this weekend and took three of a possible four points from Central Division rivals.
Cayden Lindstrom notched one goal and two assists and Shane Smith scored twice as the Tigers dismantled the Calgary Hitmen on Saturday evening at Co-op Place. Dru Krebs, Brett Calhoon, Dallon Melin and Owen MacNeil each had two assists and Beckett Langkow turned aside 29 shots in the 7-1 victory.
Back on home ice on Sunday afternoon, the Tabbies held a two-goal lead in the third period before two games in less than 24 hours caught up with them. The Swift Current Broncos scored twice and then early in overtime to seal a 4-3 comeback win.
The Tigers are off until the weekend when they head east for games against the Moose Jaw Warriors and Regina Pats.
