Zellers returning to Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Zellers is coming back to Medicine Hat.

The Canadian brand is relaunching with 25 “store experiences” within Hudson’s Bay locations across the country. The Bay store in Medicine Hat Mall is one of three locations in Alberta tapped for the addition of a Zellers.

A news release from the company doesn’t provide an opening date. It does say the Zellers experience within Hudson’s Bay will be between 8,000-10,000 square feet, depending on location.

“Customers will be greeted with a thoughtful selection of design-led products across home decor, toys, baby, apparel and pets, housed within Zellers’ signature red and white that will guide customers along in their retail journey,” the company says in a news release.

Medicine Hat Mall previously housed a Zellers store in the area that is now the food court. That store closed in 2012 and was briefly converted into a Target.

To stay in the loop, beginning today shoppers can sign up for updates on Zellers.ca. The physical stores will complement the first-ever Zellers.ca ecommerce site and the plan is to launch them simultaneously.

Kingsway Garden Mall in Edmonton and Sunridge Mall in Calgary are the other two planned Alberta locations for Zellers.
