Medicine Hat Ronald McDonald House emptied following damaged pipe

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A damaged pipe in the Medicine Hat Ronald McDonald House forced officials to evacuate the house over the weekend and currently can not accept new families.

RMHC Alberta marketing and communications director Suzanne Pescod says they are assessing the damage and how quickly they can get it repaired.

She says families staying at the house were provided other accommodations at no cost to them and the RMHC is working with partners to offer comfort items to families that would normally be staying at the home.

Pescod says they don’t know when they’ll be able to reopen the doors but hope to have a better idea by the end of this week.
