Redcliff CIBC branch to close

REDCLIFF, AB – Redcliff residents who use the CIBC bank in the town will have to find another banking option come next summer.

Company officials have confirmed that its Redcliff Banking Centre will be merged with the Medicine Hat Mall Banking Centre in June 2023.

A CIBC spokesperson provided the following statement to CHAT News:

“The decision to close a banking centre is not taken lightly and we carefully consider all options before doing so. Business volumes at the Redcliff Banking Centre have been declining for some time, and currently more than 90 per cent of our client transactions take place outside of a banking centre, through mobile, online and telephone banking. As a result of this shift, we’ve made adjustments to our network.”

The company says that staff at the Redcliff branch will help current clients through the transition to the mall branch and can show clients the online banking options available to them for their everyday banking needs.
