Canada Summer Jobs program accepting applications for next year

Dec 6, 2022 | 10:02 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The federal government announced the launch of the 2023 Canada Summer Jobs program on Monday.

The program is designed to help give youth and young adults ages 15-30 years old summer work experience by providing opportunities to develop and improve their skills within the not-for-profit, small business and public sectors, and supports the delivery of key community services.

“Now is the time for Medicine Hat–Cardston–Warner not-for-profit organizations and eligible employers to apply for funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program,” says local MP Glen Motz. “By hiring a young person, you will be helping young Canadians develop their skills and gain valuable workplace experience. Canada’s prosperity increasingly depends on young Canadians getting the education and experience they’ll need to start their careers.”

Not-for-profit organizations, public sector employers and private sector employers with 50 or fewer full-time employees can apply for funding now until Jan. 12, 2023 to hire students next summer. Full-time job placements will become available starting in April 2023.

Interested employers can submit their applications electronically via either the online fillable application or the Grants and Contributions Online Service.
