Police say stolen property reports on the rise
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Police say there has been an increase in stolen property reported over the past week and are highlighting three specific instances each involving trailers or a pickup truck.
According to a post on the Medicine Hat Police Service Facebook page, a 16-foot 2012 Wells Cargo enclosed utility trailer was stolen from a construction site in the Southwest light Industrial area sometime between Nov. 27 and early on Nov. 28. The trailer is described as black with a white side door, and having Alberta license plate 4HV171. The trailer is valued at about $10,000 and had about $15,000 worth of construction tools inside. Most of the tools are engraved or marked with “SRH.”
Sometime between Nov. 25-28, police say suspects cut a hole in the fence at a storage facility in the Brier Park area. Once inside the compound thieves entered several recreational trailers and stole various types of property.
Police initially said an older model blue station wagon was of potential interest in the investigation but that is no longer the case.
